Brewing news Ukraine: Baltika beer is to be brewed in Ukraine

Baltic Beverages Holding plans to start the production of Baltika beer brand in Ukraine. Now the Baltika brand is imported from Russia. The president of Baltic Beverages Holding-Ukraine, Petr Peretyatiko, announced that Baltika will be brewed at Kiev-based brewery Slavutich, owned by BBH.

The president mentioned that this year the import of Baltika beer in Ukraine will come to 30 million litres and next year the company plans to sell about 40 million litres of Baltika beer including imports.

Last year BBH controlled 22.1% of Ukrainian beer market taking into account the sales of Baltika beer produced by BBH n Russia. Now BBH in Ukraine owns 99.6% of OAO Livov Brewery and 92% of OAO Slavutich (including Kiev based Slavutich brewery launched in June 2004).
